BJP announces 10 candidates for Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls
YS Sujana Chowdary, who was the former MoS for Science & Technology, and Earth Sciences, will contest from the Vijayawada West constituency, whereas Srinivas Rao, who was the health minister in the erstwhile TDP government, as an NDA partner, will contest from Kaikaluru.
On Wednesday, March 27, the BJP announced 10 candidates, including former Minister of State (MoS) for YS Sujana Chowdary and former state Health Minister K Srinivas Rao, who will be contesting the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
YS Sujana Chowdary, who was the former MoS for Science & Technology, and Earth Sciences, will contest from the Vijayawada West constituency, whereas Srinivas Rao, who was the health minister in the erstwhile TDP government, as an NDA partner, will contest from Kaikaluru. Chowdary was also a former member of the Rajya Sabha.
Among other candidates, P Vishnu Kumar Raju, who is BJP's state vice president, has been fielded in the North Visakhapatnam constituency, along with BJP National Secretary Y Satya Kumar from Dharmavaram. Raju was also a former MLA for the state.
BJP's other candidates include N Eswara Rao contesting from Etcherla, P Rajarao contesting from Araku Valley as an ST candidate, B Roshanna from Badvel as an SC candidate, C Adinarayana Reddy contesting from Jammalamadugu, and P V Parthasarathi contesting from Adoni.
With this announcement, the BJP has finished the announcement of all of its candidates for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
In accordance with an agreement on seat-sharing, BJP will run for six Lok Sabha seats and ten Assembly seats alongside its NDA allies—the TDP and Janasena, who will compete for 144 Assembly seats and 17 Lok Sabha seats and two Lok Sabha seats and 21 Assembly seats in the southern state, respectively.
Andhra Pradesh will hold concurrent elections on May 13 for its 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats, with the results declared on June 4
