Karnataka Election Date 2023 LIVE: Over 58,000 polling stations in state with almost 50% in urban areas
Karnataka elections will have over 58,000 polling stations with nearly 50 per cent i.e. 28,866 urban polling stations among them, said CEC Rajiv Kumar in his press briefing to announce the poll schedule in the southern state. Not just that, 1,300 polling stations will be managed exclusively by women, he added.

In his press briefing, CEC Rajiv Kumar said that out of the 224 legislative assembly seats in Karnataka, 36 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes and 15 are for Scheduled Tribes. He also said there are 5.21 crore total voters in the state with male voters at 2.62 crore and female voters at 2.59 crore. In Karnataka, there are 12.15 lakh voters that are aged over 80, while 276 voters are aged above 100.

The Karnataka assembly elections in 2018 were held in a single phase and its schedule was announced on March 27 of that year. The single-phase polling for the 2018 Karnataka assembly election took place on May 12 and the results were declared on May 15.
