'Welcome Buddy': Chandrayaan-2 orbiter welcomes Chandrayaan-3, says ISRO

With every development, the heartbeats of Indians gather pace. Every development of Chandryaan-3 gives the impression that India's own Apollo 11 moment is too close.

On Monday, ISRO announced a major development that Chandrayaan-3's lunar module has touched the orbit of Chandryaan 2, which crashed on September 6, 2019.

Chandrayaan-3 Mission:
‘Welcome, buddy!’
Ch-2 orbiter formally welcomed Ch-3 LM.

Two-way communication between the two is established.

MOX has now more routes to reach the LM.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that two-way communication has been established and 'MOX now has more routes to reach the lunar module'.

The space agency further revealed that the live telecast of the landing event will begin at 17:20 IST on July 23.

Lunar Images

On Monday, ISRO also posted images of lunar's far side area, captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC). 

The LHDAC camera will assist in locating a safe landing area -- without boulders or deep trenches -- during the descent of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface. The camera has been developed by ISRO and the Space Application Centre.
