Chitragupta Puja 2022 Today, Kayastha Chitragupta Puja: Chitragupta Puja is being celebrated by the Kayastha community today, October 27. Chitragupta Puja is celebrated a day after Diwali. God Chitragupta is worshiped by the Kayastha community on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month which is popularly known as Yama Dwitiya. It is also the same day on which Bhai Dooj is celebrated.
However, this year Chitragupta Puja is being celebrated on October 27 due to Surya Grahan or Solar Eclipse on the next day of Diwali. Many Kayastha people celebrated Chitragupta Puja on Wednesday, October 26, as well.
Chitragupta Puja Today Time, Muhurat
Shukla Paksha Dwitiya started on October 26 at 2:42 PM. Chitragupta Puja was performed on Wednesday, October 26, as well after 3 PM. Many Kayastha community people will perform puja today as well. Today, Chitragupta Puja can be performed till around 3:30 PM.

God Chitragupta keeps a record of the karma of all human beings. He is the one who decides who will go to heaven and hell after the death. Chitragupta Maharaj is believed that he is a close acquaintance of Lord Yama.
Chitragupta Puja Vidhi
Kayastha people clean the idol of Chitragupta Maharaj. An earthen lamp is lit and a Swastik symbol is made in front of Chitragupta Maharaj. Then panchamrit is offered to Lord Chitragupta. Panchamrit is made of curd, sugar and dry fruits. A 'kalash' filled with water is also placed and then puja is performed along with aarti and havan.
