Jailer vs Gadar 2 box office collection: Sunny Deol’s action drama breaches Rs 300 crore mark, races past Rajinikanth film
After grossing Rs 40.1 crore on the first day, Gadar 2 witnessed slightly better earnings in its opening weekend with Rs 43.98 crore on day 2 and Rs 51.7 crore on day 3. On the other hand, Jailer saw its collection dropping in the first three days from Rs 48.35 crore on the opening day to Rs 25.75 crore on the second day and Rs 34.3 crore on day 3.
Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer and Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 clashed at the box office last weekend after releasing on August 10 and August 11, respectively. Both the films drew moviegoers in huge numbers on the weekend with the Independence Day holiday giving a further boost to their box office collection.
Gadar 2 managed to cross the Rs 300 crore mark at domestic box office within eight days while Jailer too witnessed impressive numbers inching closer to Rs 250 crore collection.

Gadar 2 performance on day 1
According to film trade tracker portal Sacnilk, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, a sequel to the 2001 film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', earned Rs 40.1 crore on the first day of its release across India.
Jailer performance on day 1
Jailer too witnessed a good business on day 1 collecting Rs 48.35 crore at domestic box office, according to Sacnilk.

Unlike Gadar 2, Jailer saw its collection dropping in the first three days. It earned Rs 48.35 crore on its opening day on August 10, and Rs 25.75 crore on the second day. On the third day, the Rajinikanth-starrer collected Rs 34.3 crore.
Gadar 2 now continues to make an impact at the box office and has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark.

However, in terms of worldwide collection the Rajinikanth starrer seems to have surpassed Gadar 2.
According to film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Jailer has grossed more than Rs 470 crore worldwide.

On the other hand, Gadar 2 worldwide box office collection stands at Rs 395.1 crore, according to Sacnilk.
