Baby movie box office collection: Anand Deverakonda starrer inches closer to Rs 50 crore in second week

Telugu film ‘Baby’, which was released in theatres on July 14, has taken the box office by storm. Directed by Sai Rajesh Neelam, this heartwarming romantic comedy showcases a powerhouse performance by Anand Deverakonda, with impressive support from co-stars Seetha and Vaishnavi Chaitanya. The movie, bankrolled by Mass Movie Makers, kicked off with a good response at the box office and it’s still going strong in its second week. The movie is expected to cross Rs 50 crore mark this weekend.
The romantic drama on its eighth day, as on July 21, bagged Rs 4.05 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In these territories alone, the film's collection skyrocketed to Rs 37.15 crore, contributing to a worldwide gross of Rs 48.65 Crores.
Budget and returns
Made with a moderate budget of Rs 14 crore, ‘Baby’ defied expectations, amassing a total worldwide collection of Rs 43.9 crore. India contributed a substantial Rs 33.55 Crores to this figure. As a result, ‘Baby’ secured the 10th spot among the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2023.
The film proved to be a sensation domestically, garnering Rs 7.50 crore on a single Monday, even surpassing Sunday's earnings. In just four days, it stacked up Rs 26 crore, with worldwide figures exceeding Rs 30 crore.
Territory wise, ‘Baby’ garnered Rs 11.75 crore from Nizam, Rs 10.25 crore from Andhra, and Rs 2.60 crore from Ceded. In the first three days post-release, ‘Baby’ swiftly raked in Rs 11.33 crore worldwide.
Day-to-day performance
By the fifth day, ‘Baby’ reached an impressive Rs 5.90 crore mark, showing a 100 per cent increase from day 4. The India gross collection over five days touched Rs 30.10 crore, while the worldwide tally stood at Rs 34.10 crore. The movie also experienced substantial occupancy rates in Telugu (2D) theatres on the fifth day.
Critical reception and audience response
‘Baby’ has received mixed reviews despite a compelling narrative and it has received a respectable IMDb rating of 6.8. The film's exploration of childhood love and adult challenges captivated both audiences and critics.
