The ambit of mandatory hallmarking could be widened to 28 more districts, Zee Business has learn through sources. After this, hallmarking is expected to be made mandatory in 76 more districts over the next three months. Currently hallmarking is mandatory in 256 districts in India.

Taking a big decision, the central government has once again announced relaxation in the rules of hallmarking on gold jewellery. Now the rules of hallmarking will be applicable from 15 June. After this, only Hallmark jewellery will be sold in the country.
