Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: Don't just listen to music, feel it
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: The Sonic Lamb headphones allow users to choose from four modes as per their choice of music listening - Hear, Feel, Immerse and Beast.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: There are not many options available in the market when it comes to headphones and homegrown audio technology startup Rapture Innovation Labs is trying to encash this opportunity with Sonic Lamb Headphones.
The headphones - designed, engineered and made in India - use patented Hybrid Driver Technology to deliver a high-fidelity and fully immersive audio experience.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: How does this technology work?
It works on the concept that humans experience sound by not just hearing it through the ear but also by feeling it through the body. For example, the experience of live music, drums and thunder. Also, Sonic Lamb has been developed keeping in mind the fact that human hearing is far less sensitive to low-frequency sounds (which cover sub-bass and bass regions).

While loudspeakers and home theatres use multiple audio drivers to reproduce an accurate and realistic encompassing experience, headphones usually fail in replicating the same as they use single audio drivers.
Unlike other headphones that use dynamic single audio drivers, the Hybrid Driver Technology of Sonic Lamb uses two distinct drivers that work in tandem to offer a high-fidelity and fully immersive audio experience.
While a dynamic full-range audio driver reproduces mid and high frequencies as sound waves, a proprietary driver converts the audio signal into corresponding mechanical impulses which are directed to specially engineered headphone earpads - wooferpads in this case - which function as a virtual diaphragm. This system together emulates a sub-woofer system and as a result, users not only hear the music through their ears but also feel it through their body.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: Multi-Mode Personalisation
The Sonic Lamb headphones allow users to choose from four modes as per their choice of music listening - Hear, Feel, Immerse and Beast. These modes are available just at your fingertips and quite easy to switch between one another. All of them offer clear audio and keep enhancing bass.

While Hear Mode offers the most accurate sound profile - which is good for activities like podcasts, and audiobooks, Feel Mode lets you feel every beat. The Immersive Mode enhances the bass quality with a lot of bass and the Beast Mode is best for cinematic and gaming experience. You can feel the vibrations in the ear cups in this mode without losing the clarity of the voice.
There is no active noise cancellation (ANC) available in Sonic Lamb headphones but the audio is too loud to subdue almost all types of noise around you.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: Design and Build
The Sonic Lamb headphones have a solid build and design. It is quite easy to operate as all the buttons are well placed and have a nice tactile feel. The earcups fit well and ensure good passive isolation.
Switching between these modes is easy and it takes a few seconds to adjust to the new mode before the user can feel the difference.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: Connectivity and audio quality
The Bluetooth 5.1 version provides quick paring and instant wireless connectivity. The triple mic system blocks ambient noise and captures your voice clearly.

The wireless range of the device could have been slightly better as it starts losing connection when you travel from one room to another. However, the range is quite good in open areas.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: Battery and Charging
The Sonic Lamb headphones offer decent backup in Hear Mode however charging is a bit slow as it takes slightly over two hours to fully charge the device.
Sonic Lamb Headphones Review: Verdict
The device is priced at Rs 15,999 and is worth the technique that allows users to feel the music over headphones. Also, a detachable boom mic is quite handy while making important calls as it helps improve ambient noise reduction.
