Xiaomi Mi A3 was launched in India on Wednesday as a new option for smartphone lovers in the mid-range segment. Priced aggressively at Rs 12,999 for the base variant, the smartphone comes with Google's Android One branding and acts as a successor to the Mi A2 that was launched last year. Xiaomi has tried to position the device between the Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Redmi K20 but its price tag and features puts the Mi A3 in almost the same space as the Note 7 Pro, launched earlier this year in India. So, what's different in the two devices? Let's have a look.
Mi A3 vs Redmi Note 7 Pro price in India
The Mi A3 price in India has been set at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Rs 15,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option. This less than what Redmi Note 7 Pro is priced for the base level variant. The phone is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, whereas its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option carries a price tag of Rs. 16,999. The third variant of the phone which comes with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage was launched at Rs 15,999 which has now been reduced to Rs 14,999.
The Mi A3 comes in three colour options: "Not Just Blue", "More Than White", and "Kind of Grey". Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is available in Neptune Blue, Space Black, Nebula Red, and Moonlight (Astro) White colour options.

The Mi A3 features a 6.08-inch HD+ (720x1560 pixels) Super AMOLED display while the Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a larger 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) LCD panel. Both the smartphones run Android 9 Pie. The difference here is that Mi A3 comes with the pure Android experience while the Note 7 Pro has MIUI 10.
The latest offering by Xiaomi is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, coupled with Adreno 610 GPU while the Note 7 Pro was given the Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with Adreno 612 GPU.
For optics, the Mi A3 is a major upgrade on the Note 7 Pro as it sports a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens, 8-megapixel secondary sensor with a 118-degree wide-angle f/1.79 lens, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor for depth sensing. The Note 7 Pro had introduced the 48MP camera on Xiaomi phones in India but came with dual rear camera setup with a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. On the front, the Mi A3 has a 32-megapixel selfie camera while the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a 13-megapixel selfie camera
The Mi A3 packs a 4,030mAh battery that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology and traditional 18W fast charging. The Note 7 Pro was given a 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0 technology. Both phones come bundled with a 10W charger.
