WhatsApp introduces voice notes and reaction filters for Channels
A website that tracks upcoming WhatsApp features, the messaging platform is now introducing a message reaction feature for Channels.
WhatsApp continues to enhance its user experience with new updates. Following the recent introduction of the 'Channel' feature, the company is working on rolling out two more exciting additions. One of these features is already available for beta users, while the other is still under development. Let's delve into how these new features will work.
According to a recent report from WABetainfo, a website that tracks upcoming WhatsApp features, the messaging platform is now introducing a message reaction feature for Channels.
This addition allows users to easily identify which of their contacts have reacted to channel updates.
As depicted in the report's screenshot, users can access the reaction list and choose from two options: 'All' and 'Contacts.'
In the 'All' section, you will see reactions from all channel associates, while the 'Contacts' section displays reactions exclusively from your contact list. Currently, this filter is available to select beta users who have updated to WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.23.3, but it is expected to roll out to all users in an upcoming update.
Voice Messages and Stickers for Channels: WhatsApp is also actively developing another feature for Channels – the option to share voice messages and stickers. This feature's name speaks for itself, offering users the capability to convey messages through voice recordings and fun stickers within Channels.
Information about this upcoming feature was unveiled in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.23.2. As indicated in the WABetainfo report, an upcoming app update will enable users to share voice messages on their channels through the 'Create' option.
