Surprisingly, the company did not launch the standard Note 9 model even though it confirmed to Zee Business that the device will come to India soon. Both the smartphones launched come with a quad rear camera setup, are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor but have some uncommon specs too. The Redmi Note 9 Pro price in India starts at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant and the 6GB+128GB model has been priced at Rs 15,999. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes in three different variants - 6GB+64GB variant priced at Rs 14,999, 6GB+128GB model priced at Rs 16,999 and 8GB+128GB model that costs Rs 18,999.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes in Interstellar Black, Glacier White, and Aurora Blue colour options. The Pro Max model has also been launched in Interstellar Black, Glacier White, and Aurora Blue colours.

Both the smartphones run Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. They feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) display with 450 nits brightness and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both the devices are powered by Snapdragon 720G chipset. The Note 9 Pro packs a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The Pro Max variant also has the same battery but comes with support for 33W fast charging.
Both the smartphones also support NavIC -- ISRO’s indigenous navigation system, which allows lesser TTF (Time To Fix) and better accuracy across India and 1500km around the Indian subcontinent.

Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 48-megapixel main camera with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, you get a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The Pro Max's quad rear camera setup features a 64-megapixel main camera, assisted by an 8-megapixel wide-angle snapper, a 5-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, you get a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
