Xiaomi has started the sale of its budget smartphone – the Redmi Note 9 Pro from Tuesday onwards, following the relaxations from the government. The smartphone was launched in India alongside Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in March, days before the lockdown came into place.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is the direct successor to last year’s Redmi Note 8 which emerged as one of the best selling smartphones from the company in 2019.
The budget smartphone is going on sale for the very first time since the nation-wide lockdown came into effect. Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to confirm that the phone will now be available for purchase from Xiaomi India's official website and Amazon starting 12pm today.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available in three colours -- Interstellar Black, Glacier White and Aurora Blue. The Redmi Note 9 Pro price in India starts at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant and the 6GB+128GB model has been priced at Rs 15,999.

Coming to the features, the Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 6.67-inch display which can churn up to Full HD+ resolutions (2400x1080). The panel used here is IPS in technology and boasts of 20:9 aspect ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset.
For cameras, the Redmi Note 9 Pro gets a 48-megapixel lens-based quad camera. The primary lens is a Samsung ISOCELL GM2 with support for technologies such as PDAF and Super Stablisation along with an 8-Megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. The camera set-up also brings a 5-megapixel lens for clicking macros and another 2-megapixel one for depth sensing. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel AI camera.
It is powered by a 5020 mAh battery which has 18W fast charge support.
