A successor to the Redmi Y2, the Redmi Y3 comes with a powerful 32-megapixel front camera and has a dual rear camera setup too. The smartphone brings the Kryo architecture to the Redmi series for the first time ever. Launching the phone last week, Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Xiaomi India, had said, "We’re excited to offer our all-new Redmi Y3 which redefines the selfie experience for our Mi Fans with its 32MP super selfie camera. Embodying the stunning Aura Prism design, Redmi Y3 is a significant jump from previous iterations."
The smartphone will be available in three colour options: Bold Red, Elegant Blue, and Prime Black. The sale will start at 12pm (noon) today through Amazon.in, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. Redmi Y3 embodies Aura Design, but with a prism-like effect exhibited on the rear of the phone. The company claims that the phone what brings in terms of design is something never seen before.
Redmi Y3 price in India, launch offers
The Redmi Y3 price in India has been set at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variant, while its 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at Rs. 11,999. As part of launch offer, customers will get up to 1,120GB of 4G data from Airtel as well as unlimited voice calling access.
Redmi Y3 specifications
The Redmi Y3 runs Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. It has a 6.26-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 632 SoC, paired with 3GB and 4GB RAM options. There are two internal storage options - 32GB and 64GB - both expandable up to 512GB with a dedicated card slot. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The biggest highlight of the phone is the 32MP selfie camera. Redmi Y3 32MP selfie camera comes with a Palm Shutter mode, which allows the user to trigger the 3-second timer with a simple palm gesture. At the back, it has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens. A 2-megapixel depth sensor is also available.
The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.
