Honor Pad 5 with Harman/Kardon audio tuning, turbo tech launched in India

While all eyes were on the much-awaited Honor 20 series, the smartphone manufacturer used the occasion to also introduce its latest pad series in India. The Honor Pad 5 series comes with Harman/Kardon’s audio tuning and GPU Turbo 2.0 technology. As part of the series, Honor has launched two products - Honor Pad 5 25.6 cm (10.1-inch) and Honor Pad 20.3 cm (8 inch). The series will go on sale on Flipkart from July 2019 onwards. The official date of sale will be announced soon. Suhail Tariq, CMO, Honor India said the company wants to be leaders in producing quality devices and also offer an entire ecosystem of products that are world class and provide the best value to consumers. 

"Honor's latest Pad 5 series is a perfect amalgamation of design, innovation and technology, and poised to offer the best user experience in the category. With the launch of this series, we will further expand our product portfolio in India and bring in more innovations for our consumers in the country," he said.

Honor Pad 5 series features and specifications

The Honor Pad 5 20.3 cm (8-inch) is powered by flagship Kirin 710 processor and while the 10.1-inch variant comes with Kirin 659 processor. The flagship chipset has a massive 75% increase in CPU Single-core performance and 130% increase in GPU performance. Both the Pads are packed with a 5100mAh battery. While the 10.1 inch variant gets Harman/Kardon’s acoustic engineering expertise, the 8-inch variant gets dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos Surround Sound. The series also offers a personalized setting for parents to view the kind of content their kids have access to, while also giving parents the ability to control the duration of the usage. 

The 8-inch pad runs Magic UI 2.0 which offers a variety of useful features to handle daily tasks such as unique gesture controls, AI enabled face unlock, and AI shopping. Meanwhile, the 10.1 inch pad runs EMUI 8.0 which offers features such as dedicated fingerprint access to children’s corner, a fast fingerprint scanner and Huawei Share 2.0. Both the variants are available in Glacial Blue colour.

Honor Pad 5 series price

Honor Pad 20.3cm (8-inch) will be available in 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM priced at Rs 15,499 and 17,499, respectively. Honor Pad 5 25.6cm (10.1 inch) will be available in 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM priced at 16,999 and 18,999, respectively.
