Dahi-licious! Samsung introduces world's first refrigerator that makes curd for you

Samsung has introduced world's first refrigerator that makes curd for you! Called the Curd Maestro, the refrigerator addresses the pain points of daily curd making. It has been tested by National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) which has also recommended the process of curd making in the new fridge. The new product comes as part of company's 2020 refrigerator line-up, which ranges from 198-litre Direct Cool Single Door Refrigerator priced at Rs 17,990 to the Smart Convertible 5 in 1 refrigerator which would cost you Rs 45,990.

Curd Maestro models will be priced between Rs 30,990 and Rs 45,990.

We are confident the new range of refrigerators will further strengthen our market leadership in the refrigerator category,” said Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India.

Produced under the Make in India initiative, the Curd Maestro prepares curd in five to six years - five hours for soft curd, six hours for thick curd. For this, you need to boil and cool the milk and mix the curd culture manually while Curd Maestro does the fermentation. It will not only ferment the curd but will store it too.

The company claims that the refrigerator will prepare curd with the same consistency each time and eliminates all the hassle of curd making in different weather conditions. The line-up will have refrigerators in 244-litre, 265-litre, 314-litre and 336-litre capacities.

Smart Convertible 5-in-1 Twin Cooling refrigerators come with five modes — Normal, Extra Shopping, Vacation, Seasonal, and Home Alone. Twin Cooling Plus system has separate airflows in both the fridge and freezer, preventing unpleasant smells from foods moving between the fridge and freezer.

The new lineup comes with 10-year warranty on the compressor and digital inverter technology with stabilizer free operations. It will be available in new set of design patterns — Paradise Bloom, New Camellia, Wave and Premium Steel.

The refrigerator lineup is available across all retail channels and on Samsung Shop starting January 2020.
