Apple expands Business Connect programme, set to benefit enterprises significantly: Details inside
If businesses choose to use Business Caller ID, Apple will display their information, including name, logo, and department, on the receiver’s iPhone’s screen.
In a welcome announcement for businesses worldwide, Apple has announced to extend its Apple Business Connect programme. The latest update will enable companies to share information about their businesses, allowing them to be featured in Apple Maps, Siri, and various other locations across the operating system. Previously, the programme was exclusive to businesses with physical locations, but it has now been updated to include virtual, service-based, and online businesses as well.
Once devices are updated to iOS 18.2, the mail app will feature brand logos along with emails from participating businesses. Additionally, registered businesses will be able to add extra details, such as special offers or photos, and confirm the accuracy of the information. Businesses also have the option to sign up for Branded Mail before the company starts rolling out to users as part of iOS 18.2. This will allow users to easily recognise the emails among several unread messages.
If businesses choose to use Business Caller ID, Apple will display their information, including name, logo, and department, on the receiver’s iPhone’s screen. This feature is expected to be rolled out next year and will be useful in distinguishing between genuine callers and spam.
Additionally, Apple will introduce the Tap to Pay service, allowing businesses to display their logo while processing payments, rather than just displaying a category icon. It will be for the first time that businesses will showcase their custom artwork in the Tap to Pay interface when using an iPhone to undertake contactless payments.
Last year, Apple introduced Business Connect, which allowed businesses to claim listings in Maps, Wallet, Siri, and more. Notably, joining Apple Business Connect is totally free.
In other developments, Apple is also set to explore the smart home market. The initiative will reportedly begin with Apple introducing ‘Apple Intelligence’, which aims to enhance home automation by giving users control over apps, devices, and media.
