Apple's 15-inch MacBook Air hits the shelves at Rs 1,34,900: Check out specifications, colour options and discount

Apple’s much awaited 15-inch MacBook Air, which was unveiled at the recently concluded WWDC 2023 event, is now available in India. The Cupertino-based tech giant has kept the design of the new laptop very similar to the 13-inch version. It is worth noting that the new 15-inch MacBook Air is the first laptop with a screen of this size that is not part of the "pro" lineup of devices.

The design of the 15-inch MacBook Air is similar to all the recent laptops of the brand. However, the Apple fans will like the elegant squared-off design and the notch in the display for the 1080p webcam. However, some fans might rue the absence of the old wedge that the Air was previously known for.  Apple’s new laptop will hit the sweet spot for most people in terms of capability, price, and portability.

The 15-inch MacBook Air is probably a good buy for those who are looking for an Apple laptop with MacOS operating powered by a great battery. Apple is claiming that its new offering stacks up well when compared to some of the most popular 15-inch laptops in the market. Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Air will primarily compete with Dell’s XPS 15.

MacBook Air Display

Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Air will come with a 15.3-inch “Liquid Retina” display that maxes out at 500 nits of brightness. Although the display won’t have the “ProMotion” adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz, it is still a great device for most users. 

MacBook Air Specifications

Apple has added its M2 chip to the 15-inch MacBook Air. This is the same chip that powers the smaller model. This chip is not the latest one and it performs very well on the 13-inch MacBook Air. The laptop will boast of two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a headphone jack and a MagSafe charging port.

Apple is claiming that the 15-inch MacBook Air, which is about 3.3 pounds in weight and 11.5mm thick, delivers 18-hour battery life.

The 15-inch Air will be available in the same four colours as the smaller laptop— Space Gray, Midnight, Starlight and Silver.

According to an Apple Insider report, buyers in the United States can avail a preorder discount of $50 if they purchase the laptop via Amazon.
