Vivo T1x review: The T-series smartphones from Vivo India have done phenomenally well in terms of looks and performance, before the launch of this Vivo T1x, the brand earlier this year introduced two popular under T-series in India - Vivo T1 and Vivo T1 Pro. Both the devices did impress users and critics with the all-round performance. Now, Vivo brought the T1x phone to the market and it didn't disappoint us.
Vivo T1x Price
Let's start with pricing and color options -- The newly-launched Vivo T1x is available in three storage options -- Rs 11,999/- (4GB + 64GB), Rs 12,999/- (4GB + 128GB) and Rs 14,999/- (6GB + 128GB). The device comes in Gravity Black and Space Blue color options. We used Space Blue color variant for more than a week and here's what I have to say about this new affordable smartphone from Vivo India. With this phone, Vivo is planning to bring competition to brands like, Poco, Realme, Infinix, Oppo and other is under Rs 15K price segment. It is powered with Snapdragon 680 processor, 4-layer cooling system and a massive 5000 mAh battery along with an 8 mm thin body.
Vivo T1x Design
In terms of design and outlooks, the Vivo T1x has a shiny back and looks good from the rear side. It sports an 8 mm thin body with a 2.5D flat frame, a slim form factor that feels premium and offers a comfortable grip. While holding the phone, it feels light and comfortable and you can keep it in your hands for long durations without any problem. However, this phone is prone to dust and fingerprint marks, so I advise you to buy a good cover if you plan to buy this phone. Overall, the T1x ticked most of the right boxes in terms of looks and build in the budget category.
On the rear side of the Vivo T1x, you will see a square-shaped camera bump that houses the dual camera setup with the LED flash with the Vivo logo below. The right edge of smartphone houses the power button/finger print scanner and a dedicated space for the volume keys. At the top , you will see a dedicated space for Nano-SIM Card Slot. At the bottom of the device, the smartphone is also offering USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm audio jack and microphone. The performance of speakers at the bottom was average. Connectivity options on the include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.20, USB Type-C, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India) , and 5G. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.
Vivo T1x Display
Vivo T1x sports 6.58-inch FHD+ Incell display with 90Hz Refresh rate and a resolution of 1080x2408 pixels. It offers smooth scrolling and delivers bright, vivid colors for content consumption. While watching movies and playing games in various light conditions during the review period, we saw bright, accurate and crisp colors. If we look at the price of this phone, the performance was good in low light conditions. The experience was good. The overall experience while using the screen was smooth and lag-free.
Vivo T1x Camera
In terms of camera performance, the Vivo T1x on the rear side houses dual camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) camera. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It has a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. As far as the performance is concerned, the rear camera setup of the Vivo T1x gives good performance in affordable category, especially when you compare it with any Infinix or Nokia phone in under Rs 15K category. The colours of the images from this phone came out good in bright light conditions only but it also misses out on clarity in low light conditions. Even in bright light conditions, the images lacked sharpness. However, selfies from the font camera were good but also lacked sharpness. Overall, the Vivo T1x gave okayish camera performance.
Vivo T1x Performance
Coming to the performance, the Vivo T1x comes powered with Snapdragon 680 processor, a powerful chipset with a high AnTuTu score of 276k+ that delivers peak performance for all demanding tasks. On the software front, the smartphone runs on FunTouch OS 12 based on Android 11 Platform and comes with Game Mode and Multi Turbo 5.0 for a complete lag-free experience. The good thing is the UI is very easy to use and you may not face any issues. While playing light games, we witnessed lag-free gaming here. The graphic quality was average in normal settings. Overall, the Vivo T1x was fast and smooth. We did not face any issues while switching between the apps In terms of battery performance, the device is backed by massive 5000mAh battery, combined with our VEG technology that prevents the smartphone from overcharging, thereby offering efficient energy and thermal management. It supports 18W of charge support. Once fully charged, this phone lasted for over a day during normal to medium usage. Also, it did not heat up during heavy usage.
Vivo T1x Verdict: Available at the starting price of 11,999, this smartphone from Vivo is offering good design and decent features at an affordable price. For the cameras, I feel there is a scope for improvement but these are still much better than the competition in the same price range. This Vivo T1x has everything you expect from a smartphone under Rs 15,000 price segment. The phone can be a good option if you are on a tight budget.
