Samsung Galaxy S22 series gets "overwhelming response" in India; over 70,000 pre-booked in less than 12 hours

The newly launched Samsung Galaxy S22 series set a new flagship record for Samsung India, with the company securing over 70,000 pre-bookings in less than 12 hours. Pre-bookings for Galaxy S22 series in India started on February 23.

"We are grateful to our consumers for the overwhelming response to the new Galaxy S22 series. Pre-Orders for Galaxy S22 series are extremely encouraging, and we are committed to getting these devices to our customers as early as possible," said Aditya Babbar, Senior Director and Head of Product Marketing, Samsung India.

According to the company, Customers pre-booking Galaxy S22 Ultra will get Galaxy Watch 4 worth Rs 26,999 at just Rs 2999, also customers pre-booking Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 will get Galaxy Buds 2 worth Rs 11999 at Rs 999.

Additionally, Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series customers will get an upgrade bonus of Rs 8000 while other device holders will get an upgrade bonus of Rs 5000. Alternatively, customers who opt to purchase these devices via Samsung Finance+, can avail a cashback of Rs 5000.

Consumers in India can pre-book their Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 at leading retail outlets, Samsung Exclusive stores, Samsung online store and Amazon.in from February 23 to March 10. Galaxy S22 Series will go on sale from March 11, 2022.

Samsung recently unveiled Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 in India.

Samsung Galaxy S22 price in India starts at Rs. 72,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and it also comes in an 8GB + 256GB model that costs Rs 76,999. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ price in India starts at Rs 84,999 for the 8GB + 128GB storage model and goes up to Rs. 88,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model.

On the other hand,  the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes at starting price tag of Rs. 1,09,999 for the 12GB + 256GB option. The phone also has the top-of-the-line 12GB + 512GB model that is priced at Rs 1,18,999

According to the brand, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will be available in India in Green, Phantom Black, and Phantom White colours, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will debut in Burgundy, Phantom Black, and Phantom White for the 12GB + 256GB model and Burgundy and Phantom Black for the 12GB + 512GB option.

Samsung Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display that supports a variable refresh rate of 48–120Hz and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ panel. There is the 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, along with 8GB of RAM as standard

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ comes with similaer specs with the regular Galaxy S22. The smartphone comes with 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display. The phone also comes with 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 45W wired charging — alongside 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare support.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra  features a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display and it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, along with up to 12GB of RAM. The device comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 108MP primary sensor along with a 12MP ultra-wide shooter and a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom and another 10MP telephoto shooter with 10x optical zoom support.
