Ahead of Apple iPhone 14 launch, what we know about expected prices

US-based tech giant Apple will bring the latest iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max September this year with a major upgrades on the front camera system. Now a new report has revealed the upcoming iPhone 14 is likely to be $100 more costlier than iPhone 13.

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives said the firm believes "a $100 price increase is coming for the iPhone 14", AppleInsider reported citing the Sun, said news agency IANS in a report.  "Prices have been increasing across the whole supply chain, and Cupertino needs to pass these costs to the consumer on this release," the analyst was quoted as saying.

Various elements within the components industry are raising prices for various reasons, such as Samsung raising chip production pricing by 20 per cent in May, following other foundries. Covid-related lockdowns have also caused problems for Apple's supply chain, with partners working to catch up on production, the report said.

The rising component costs and Apple’s determination to differentiate Pro and non-Pro iPhones, will see the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max increase to $1099 and $1199 respectively. Apple is also expected to replace the iPhone 13 mini with a Max version could lead to a price hike of about $300," the report added.

Also, according to a report from MacRumors, the images, shared on Weibo and highlighted by "DuanRui" on Twitter, depict ultra-slim third-party cases for the 6.1-inch ‌iPhone 14‌ and iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch ‌iPhone 14‌ Max and ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max.

"Although one of the devices is labeled ‌iPhone‌ 14 Plus there is no reliable evidence to suggest that this will be the device's final naming, with the 14 Max moniker being more likely in parallel to the iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max, the report further added.

The images also include a close-up comparison of the cases' precise moldings and cutouts for the rear camera setups, illustrating how much it is expected to grow from the iPhone 13 Pro to the ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌.
