WhatsApp update: Soon! You can hide online status on WhatsApp - check details
WhatsApp plans to introduce a new section within Privacy Settings > Last Seen: last seen and online. In this section, you will be able to decide who can see when you’re online thanks to two options: everyone and “same as last seen”.
WhatsApp update: The Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp is planning to roll out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program. According to a report, WhatsApp is working on the ability to hide the online status, for a future update of the app.
As per the report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp plans to introduce a new section within Privacy Settings > Last Seen: last seen and online. In this section, you will be able to decide who can see when you’re online thanks to two options: everyone and “same as last seen”.
If you choose the second option, it will copy the setting from the last seen: for example, when people cannot see your last seen because you chose “Nobody” or “My contacts except”, they won’t be able to see when you’re online if you select the option “same as last seen”.
Unfortunately, since this feature is under development, it is not available to users because it is not ready, the WABetaInfo report said. In related news, WhatsApp recently rolled out a major new feature for the users around the globe. The messaging application has announced support that users now can transfer entire WhatsApp chat history from Android to iOS and vice versa.
WhatsApp took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote: "A new way to keep the chats that mean the most. Today, you’ll have the ability to transfer your entire chat history from Android to iOS and vice versa. Now you have the freedom to switch to and from your preferred devices."
If you're moving from an Android phone to an iPhone, you can transfer your account information, profile photo, individual chats, group chats, chat history, media, and settings. You can’t transfer your call history or display name.
According to WhatsApp, transferred data doesn't go to cloud storage as a result of the migration until you create an iCloud backup. WhatsApp can't see the data you transfer. Your Android phone will still have your data unless you delete WhatsApp or wipe your phone.
