According to outage detection website DownDetector, WhatsApp is not working for thousands of users. Affected regions based are Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow, but reports suggest that the outage is affecting users everywhere. WhatsApp is experiencing an issue when connecting to the server.

"We're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we're working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible," Meta Company Spokesperson said in a statement.
According to Down Detector, over 85 per cent of people reported problems while messaging, 11 per cent while using the app, and 3 per cent while using the website. In India, the affected cities include Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Lucknow, but users from the US, Germany, South Africa, Bahrain, Bangladesh and several other countries also complained on the platform that the service is currently creating a disturbance and not working smoothly. Users in India also faced trouble while sending images and videos.
Last year, major social media services backed my Meta company including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were hit by a massive outage, impacting potentially tens of millions of users. Meanwhile, social media users took to microblogging platforms including Twitter and Instagram are flooded with WhatsApp down memes. Several users noted that they came to Twitter to check if WhatsApp was down for all users.
"When your WhatsApp is playing up but you come to Twitter and see that everyone else is having the same problem #WhatsAppDown, a user wrote on Twitter.
"Today online, one tick for both deliver and read messages. Is WhatsApp down? #WhatsApp #whatsappdown," a user wrote on Twitter.
"WhatsApp is down in many countries, including Pakistan," another user wrote.
Meanwhile, the platform hasn't shared any official statement on the matter.
Early this month, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger went down for millions of users, including in India, as they were unable to send or receive messages on social media platforms.
