Instagram update: Here's how creators will soon get credit for original content

Instagram latest update: Meta-owned photo-sharing platform Instagram recently introduced three new features on its platform- Product Tags, Enhanced Tags and Ranking for originality. Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, took to micro-blogging site Twitter to announce the news.

"New Features. We’ve added new ways to tag and improve ranking: - Product Tags - Enhanced Tags - Ranking for originality. Creators are so important to the future of Instagram, and we want to make sure that they are successful and get all the credit they deserve," Mosseri wrote on Twitter.

In a video, Mosseri has shared across his social media platform, he also discussed about all three new Instagram features in upcoming update.  

"If you create something from scratch you should get more credit than if you are resharing something that you found from someone else. We’re going to do more to try and value original content more, particularly compared to reposted content,” he said in a video.

Recently, Instagram said that it is testing more recent and timely content in 'Top' and 'Reels' tabs in hashtags and removing the 'Recent' tab. "The photo-sharing platform said in a tweet that it is removing the 'Recent' tab on hashtag pages for some users as part of a small test, according to TechCrunch," the IANS report said.

"For a small group, we are testing more recent and timely content in 'Top' and 'Reels' tabs in hashtags, and removing the 'Recent' tab. We want to see if this helps people connect with more interesting and relevant content on hashtags, while also keeping them across what is current," the company wrote on the micro-blogging site.
