Aadhaar Card name update online: Change name by yourself now - Check this link and steps to follow

Aadhaar Card name change Update: We all know the importance of the Aadhaar Card nowadays.  Starting from official documentation and banking activities to availing government schemes, Aadhaar is an important document for everyone in today’s time. It is one of the most important identity and address proof documents in India.

However, if you want to update your demographics or biometric details, that also can be done easily now. For that purpose, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the agency which oversees the 12-digit ID verification platform, has shared the mechanism to get demographics or biometric details updated in the Aadhaar card.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recently took to micro-blogging platform Twitter and informed: " Aadhaar Online Services - Now you can update your name in your #Aadhaar yourself online through Aadhaar Self-service Update Portal i.e. https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/. Make sure you upload a scanned copy of your original proof of identity."

Now make minor changes to your name in Aadhaar, through the self-service update portal -

Allowed changes in the name:

a. Spelling correction (provided the pronunciation is phonetically same)
b. Sequence change
c. Short-form to full form
d. Name change after marriage

Please note that you will be charged Rs 50/- against each update request through the online portal. (Update of more than one field at a time is considered as one update only).  You need your mobile number registered in Aadhaar to avail these services.

"Registered mobile number is mandatory for Online Aadhaar Update Request. You will receive OTP for Aadhaar Authentication on your registered mobile. Note: For other updates like Head of Family/Guardian details or Biometric update, the resident will be required to visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Enrolment/Update Centre," Unique Identification Authority of India said.
