With increasing popularity and recognition of yoga across the world, many start-ups have started commodifying the experience and are now building their business. Four such enterprises including Juru Mats, Yoga Jal, Yoga Bars and Yoga Bars have carved a niche while building their business, according to YourStory.com. Juru Mats: This is India's first eco-friendly, innovative and completely homegrown product in Juru Mats in 2015. Juru is a portmanteau of ‘ju’te and natural ‘ru’bber, offering five kinds of cork mats, which provide an excellent grip - no matter how much you sweat. Yoga Jal: Nayana Kanthraj and her husband Deepak Ugrappa founded Yoga Jal in 2017. The Bengaluru-based start-up, Yoga Jal has a unique blend of herbs that contain natural preservatives to retain active ingredients. Yoga Bars: Offering crunchy and wholesome on-the go energy snack bars made from natural ingredients, this Bengaluru-based start-up came into existence in August 2014 with the efforts of two sisters, Suhasini and Anindita Sampat Kumar. The Yoga Bars targets the market demographic of 25 to 35-year olds, who despite active and busy lifestyle, have a higher concern for their health. Image source: company website
Forever Yoga: With a growing number of people practising yoga, yoga wear is also picking up. The market for active wear is valued at a little over $13 billion. Adding panache to yoga wear is Forever Yoga, which finds it different from other brands. It is not focused on sportswear but only on comfort yoga wear, the firm says. Source: DNA.
