7th Pay Commission: Central government employees have been waiting for the government to announce a hike in the basic salary and the fitment factor. Though they are yet to get a word over their demands of the fitment factor hike, the government has definitely been generous to the central staffers ahead of Lok Sabha elections. 7th Pay Commission: Strike in Gujarat
7th Pay Commission: Over 45,000 staffs of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) have been on strike from February 20. Their key demands include implementation of the 7th pay commission and putting a ban on the services of the private buses. The strike is expected to affect over 23 lakh passengers including students. 7th Pay Commission: Retirement Age
7th Pay Commission: After a rebuke by the Delhi High Court, the Ministry of Home Affairs is said to be planning to remove the anomaly in the retirement age of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The ministry will be increasing the retirement age for the constable to commandant (senior superintendent of police) to 60 years from the present 57 years. The decision is expected next week. This will bring uniformity in the retirement age. (PTI)
7th Pay Commission: DA hike for employees, pensioners
7th Pay Commission: In a move that will benefit over 1.1 crore central government employees and pensioners, the Centre has hiked the Dearness Allowance by 3 per cent to 12 per cent. The previous DA hike was in August last year when the government had increased it to 9 per cent from 7 per cent. (IANS)

7th Pay Commission: After agreeing to increase the running allowances and cadre restructuring demand, the Ministry of Railways has also decided to constitute a Committee for the inclusion of fresh categories within the ambit of Risk and Hardship Allowance. The ministry said the function of the committee will be 'To holistically examine the inclusion of fresh categories within the ambit of Risk and Hardship Allowance introduced by 7th CPC'. (PTI)
