Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Design

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Design

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: The Samsung Galaxy A16 looks more expensive than it is because of the premium glasstic back. However, the middle frame is made of plastic. The device measures just 7.9mm in width, being the slimmest mid-range Galaxy A series smartphone so far. Also, the smartphone is 7.9mm in thickness and is thinner than the Galaxy A15 which is 8.4mm thick. The company has also reduced bezels but they are still quite prominent at the chin. The smartphone comes with Samsung's signature style triple camera setup and the rings are not producing much. Also, the successor of the Galaxy A15 comes with an IP54 rating.

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Display

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Display

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: The smartphone has a larger screen as compared to its predecessor. It now has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display as compared to a 6.5-inch full display in the Galaxy A15. The smartphone offers a 90Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling and swapping smooth. But this is not adaptive. The display is sharp enough and has good contrast. It offers a satisfactory viewing experience.

Also, the smartphone has a single speaker at the bottom, which is loud enough. The audio quality is good enough considering the price range

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Performance

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Performance

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor as compared to MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ in Galaxy A15. The new chip is slightly powerful and offers a stutter-free experience for casual usage. While multitasking was smooth, at times there was some noticeable lag when switching to one app from another with many of them running in the background.

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Software

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Software

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: The Galaxy A16 runs on Android 14 with Samsung's One UI 6.1 custom layer on top. This is the same as the one used in the company's flagship devices. However, there are some features missing. The best part about this smartphone is that it offers an impressive six generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. That no other smartphones offer in this price range, or even above.

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Camera

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: Camera

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: The Samsung Galaxy A16 comes with a triple camera system, featuring a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro lens. Pictures clicked with the main camera can give a good amount of details and dynamic range. The 5MP ultra-wide camera can capture decent photos during the day and the 2MP macro lens could have been better. For selfies, it has a 13MP camera which clicks decent images with nice skin tones.

Samsung Galaxy A16 Review: The smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery which can easily last for an entire day. The smartphone doesn't come with a charger. It supports 25W charging, which is slow and may take over 100 minutes to fully juice up the device.
