The Narendra Modi Government could release the eighth instalment of Rs 2000 under its flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi by the end of this month, Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary has said. The Minister has revealed this information to TV-9 digital.
Choudary said that the instalment of Rs 2000 will likely be credited into the accounts of the farmers between 20 and 25 April. Under the Scheme, the amount of Rs 6000 per year is released in three 4-monthly instalments of Rs 2000 each directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

The Government has not yet declared the date for releasing the 8th instalment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Around 11.7 cr farmers are the direct beneficiaries of this scheme.
The Minister has said that this scheme has been ongoing and was launched to send the benefits directly to the farmers. He said that there will be no violation of any Model Code of Conduct because of the disbursement of funds under this scheme as this is a government flagship scheme under which the disbursement are being made for quite some time.
He also dispelled media report which suggested that the instalments will be made effective from 8 April 2021. He had told this publication that this news was false.
The amount has still not been released, the MOS has clarified. He said that the farmers should not fall for such news.
The Government can release Rs 20,000 cr in one go. As per the sources quoted in the news, the government could pay Rs 2000 to 10 cr farmers this time, disbursing Rs 20,000 cr. The Ministry has already completed the groundwork for this, this report said and only the Prime Minister’s Consent is required.
Under this scheme, around Rs 65,000 cr budget has been allocated. This amount is released in three instalments in a year. The last time this amount was released by the Government on 25 December 2020 and around 9 cr farmers were benefitted. Money was transferred in the accounts of many farmers later once their verification process was completed.
