Over 9 crore beneficiaries now registered under Ujjwala 2.0; know major highlights of this scheme

Ujjwala 2.0 Scheme: Over nine crore beneficiaries are now availing the benefits Government's flagship Ujjwala 2.0 scheme. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG), introduced the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ (PMUY) in May 2016 to make clean cooking fuel such as LPG available to the rural and deprived households in the country.

These rural and under priviledged households were otherwise using traditional cooking fuels such as firewood, coal, cow-dung cakes and others. In case of further information and queries, the interested individuals can login to the official website at pmuy.gov.in.

Major highlights of Ujjwala 2.0 scheme

The Indian Oil has recently tweeted from its official Twitter handle about the highlights of Ujjwala 2.0 scheme. The major highlights of the scheme are as follows:

1) Stove and first refill free with deposit-free connection for all

2) Connection for adult female of migrant and non-migrant poor families

3) Aadhaar accepted as a valid document for address and identity

4) Self declaration accepted as family and address proof for migrants

5) For the first time, an online application facility is available on pmuy.gov.in
