No cash in ATM? Try these methods for purchases, payments
One can always opt for digital methods of payment or the plastic form of currency when there is no immediate availability of cash currency.
The Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is the provision given by all public and private sector banks to dispense out cash currency for the customers for day to day transactions. But, what to do when there is no cash in ATM. Well, for the following quotidian activities, one can always opt for digital methods of payment or the plastic form of currency, when there is no immediate availability of cash currency.
For Transfer of Money from one party to another
All public and private banks provide with the facility of net banking. So if you have run out of cash but had to transfer a large amount to another individual, then you can always opt for this method. All you need to do is login into your net banking account, enter the bank details of the recipient and the amount to be transferred.
If your amount is minimal, then the transfer can be done through digital mobile applications like Google Pay or Paytm which require your bank account details and acts as an intermediary body to execute the transaction.
For Food Delivery
Ordering food via delivering applications instead of on call is always convenient as it offers you the option to make the payment through your card before check out. This will prove hassle-free as it just requires you to put in your bank details in the delivering app. Applications like Zomato, Food Panda and Swiggy also offer discounts and coupon codes if you use a debit or credit card of a particular bank. Occasionally you can also avail the bonus of credit points that they offer that can be used in lieu of money.
Some restaurants also provide with card mode of payments on doorstep delivery. Check with your restaurant before going ahead with this mode of payment.
For Travel
Travelling by public transports like local trains, metros, buses, taxi cabs and auto rickshaws often are the spheres wherein you need to have cash in hand to pay for the ticket or fare. But to avoid coming to a situation where you are low on cash for either, one can opt for monthly tickets and rechargeable smart cards. The tickets and smart cards require a one-time payment to the authorities of the transportation system. Moreover, you can book taxis and auto rickshaws through service providers like Ola and Uber and make the payment either through your card or the credits such as Ola Money, that one gets on the application time to time.
For long distance travel via flight, long-distance trains and buses, one can either book from the official website of the service providers or through intermediary bodies like MakeMyTrip, ThomasCook or RedBus, instead of buying tickets across the counter. Additionally, these third party bodes also offer discounts and coupon codes on every booking.
