Kisan Samman Nidhi: MP govt hikes payout, farmers to now get Rs 6,000 annually
The Madhya Pradesh government has now decided to replicate the centre's payout and provide Rs 6,000 to the farmers as part of the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana. This way farmers will receive Rs 12,000 every year — which averages out to Rs 1,000 per month.
Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi: There's some really good news for farmers of Madhya Pradesh! The Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government has announced on Friday that farmers in the state will now get Rs 6,000 annually under the Kisan Kalyan Yojana. Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh farmers used to receive Rs 4,000 under the same scheme.
Madhya Pradesh farmers to now get Rs 12,000 per annum
So, combining the Central Government's Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Scheme) and the state government's Kisan Kalyan Yojana scheme, farmers in the state will now receive a total of Rs 12,000 annually. After a cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, it was announced that the government has approved the scheme to pay Rs 6,000 to eligible farmers from the financial year 2023-2024 under the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Earlier, a total of Rs 4,000 was paid in two equal installments for the period of April 1 to August 31, and September 1 to March 31. After the announcement made on Friday, from the financial year 2023-2024, approval has been given to pay a total of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmers in three equal installments for the period from April 1 to July 31, August 1 to November 30 and December 1 to March 31.

As part of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme (PM-Kisan) scheme, the Central government provides Rs 6,000 annually to the farmers.

Satellite city to come up in Amarkantak
The state government has announced plans to set up a satellite city in Amarkantak — the origin point of Narmada river. As part of the plan, hotels, resorts and other facilities for tourists will be made at the satellite city.
Earlier, the government had completely banned construction works involving cement on the banks of river Narmada, with the intention of maintaining the flow of the river that's considered holy by a large section of the people.
Benefits of 7th pay scale to Gram Panchayat Secretaries
The MP Cabinet has also decided to give the benefit of the 7th pay scale to Gram Panchayat Secretaries. It was informed that the government will be making provisions of Rs 178,88,00,000 for this additional expenditure.
