Labour Shramik Card Registration: Workers can register with aadhaar, bank account details, mobile number linked with aadhaar
The Labour Shramik Card will have details of name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skill types and family details etc. for optimum realisation of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them.
Labour Shramik Card Registration news: e-SHRAM has been recently launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for welfare of crores of unorganised workers of the country. Workers can register on this portal using their Aadhaar Number, Bank Account Details and Mobile Number linked with Aadhaar. To extend the benefits to unorganised workers of the country, the e-SHRAM portal will be seeded with their Aadhaar cards.
The Labour Shramik Card will have details of name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skill types and family details etc. for optimum realisation of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them. It is the first-ever national database of unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers and others.
This system is being made to register 38 crore unorganised workers. "It will not only register them but would also be helpful in delivering of various social security schemes being implemented by the Central and State Governments,” said the labour minister said.
The Ministry of Labour tweeted: “Registration has commenced on e-SHRAM Portal from 26th August 2021. All Unorganised Workers can now register using their Aadhaar Number, Bank Account Details and Mobile Number linked with Aadhaar.”
Process to register for Labour Shramik Card
1. To register the e-SHRAM portal, login to the official website at eshram.gov.in.
2. Click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link on the home page.

3. Enter the Aadhaar-linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP.

4. Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process.
Please note that if a worker does not have Aadhaar-linked mobile number, then he/ she can visit the nearest CSC and register through Biometric authentication.
The workers should have Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank account number to register for the e-SHRAM portal.
“In times of any national crisis like COVID-19, financial help through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will be transferred directly in the bank account of the Unorganised Worker, registered on e-SHRAM Portal,” EPFO tweeted.
All registered unorganised workers will be provided the accidental insurance coverage through Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for a year. It will also be helpful for State & Central Governments to provide assistance to eligible UWs in case of any pandemic/ calamities. The registration has already started from 26th August.
Construction workers, migrant worhers, street vendors, domestic workers, milkmen, truck drivers, fishermen, agriculture workers and similar other workers will be covered in e-Shram portal. Over 38 crore unorganised workers will be registered on eSHRAM portal.
Labour Shramik Card Benefits
The e-SHRAM card will be acceptable across the country. After registering, the worker is entitled to get an Accidental Insurance cover and permanent disability of 2 Lakh and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganised workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilised to provide necessary assistance to the eligible unorganised workers.
