I have a mediclaim policy for my family. It is a family floater. Can I also buy a critical illness family floater along with this? Is it possible to claim under both policies together? – Kaushik Baliga
Critical Illness plans are offered on an individual coverage basis and not on Family Floater option. Moreover, your mediclaim policy will reimburse your actual medical expenses while a Critical Illness Plan provides a fixed lump sum amount, on the diagnosis of any of the pre-specified critical illnesses, irrespective of the expenses borne by you.

Motor tariff allows usage of a private car for social, domestic, and pleasure purposes. You can claim insurance for the damages, provided that the person driving the car has a valid driving license, is in a stable mental condition, and is not under any heavy medication or influence of prohibited substances such as intoxicating liquor or drugs.

Diagnostic tests as part of hospitalisation expenses are covered in the health policy. These may also be covered under OPD treatment up to the limits specified in the policy on advice of the medical practitioner if the policy has OPD coverage.
