Big relief for women Jan Dhan account holders! Banks to start disburse Rs 500 in PMJDY accounts from tomorrow
PMJDY payments: Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, a sum of Rs 500 per month is being deposited into the accounts of Women Jan Dhan Yojana beneficiaries by all banks.
PMJDY payments: Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, a sum of Rs 500 per month is being deposited into the accounts of Women Jan Dhan Yojana beneficiaries by all banks. This is the first of the 3 monthly installments. The Indian Banks Association informed in a written press statement about the decision citing the money will be disbursed into the beneficiary women PMJDY Yojana accounts from 3rd to 9th April 2020. The amount will be disbursed as per the last digit of women’s PMJDY account numbers. The IBA said that the decisions as taken to maintain social distancing during the Corona lockdown in India.
The IBS press statement said, "Request all beneficiaries to kindly cooperate and ensure the safety and comfort of everyone. As this money is being deposited into the Bank accounts, the beneficiaries need not rush for withdrawal, money can be drawn at your convenience at any later date." The IBA statement went on to add, "Also, request the beneficiaries to use the neighborhood ATMs with Rupay cards, Bank Mitras, CSPs as much as possible to avoid crowding at the Branches. Please note that there will be no charges for withdrawing money from other Bank ATMs, at present, as per Govt of India directives."

In order to maintain social distancing and to ensure an orderly withdrawal of money by the beneficiaries, the following schedule will be followed by all Banks for the month of April 2020.

Indian banks are taking various measures to maintain social distancing and avoid any kind of financial crisis among its customers. The majority of the Indian banks have announced EMI moratorium, extending it to all kinds of retail loans to even credit card payments and credit card loans. Bank of Baroda has announced to repay the EMI deducted in March 2020 before the RBI EMI moratorium offer.
