The Post Office has also come forward to assist people in this tough situation. India Post has been distributing money at people’s doorstep via the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions.
People are avoiding stepping out of their homes due to the ongoing Covid pandemic and lockdown restrictions. Most of the essential services including making payments, several banking services, etc. have become digitalised.
Now, the Post Office has also come forward to assist people in this tough situation. India Post has been distributing money at people’s doorstep via the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions.

“During the COVID-Pandemic, India Post is effectively distributing money at people’s doorstep with Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions following Covid Appropriate Behaviour,” India Post tweeted.
Aadhaar Enabled Payment System is a payment service that allows bank customers to perform banking transactions using Aadhaar. Customers of Bank participating in AEPS and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) can avail this Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, as per a report by india.com.

The services which can be availed as part of the AEPS include Balance Enquiry, Aadhaar to Aadhaar Fund Transfer, Cash Withdrawal, and Mini Statement.
To avail the service, one needs to have a bank account and the bank must be part of the AEPS. Also, the account holder must link Aadhaar with the bank account. Customers need to note that the transaction is completed only using the Aadhaar card holder’s biometric authentication.
Postal employees visit the home of the customer as India Post Payments Bank offers the doorstep banking facility.
Steps to get money at doorstep via Post Office:
Step 1: Bank customers are required to book their appointment by giving a call to contact centre at 155299.
Step 2: Next, a confirmation SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number.
Step 3: Customers will have to confirm the visit details to India Post Payments Bank’s representatives.
Step 4: Provide your account number or mobile number, or show your QR card to the doorstep representative.
Customers can note that the Doorstep Banking Charges have been waived off by IPPB for all transactions or services like cash withdrawal, mini statement, and balance enquiry.
