How to update adress on Aadhar card online: Here's your step-by-step guide:
Step 1 – Visit the official UIDAI website: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 2 – Enter the Aadhaar number as well as the registered mobile number. Click on "Get OTP".
Step 3 – Enter the OTP received and click on "Login".
Step 4 – A new page will appear, scroll down and locate the "Address Update" option.
Step 5 – Click "Update Aadhar Online".
Step 6 – The individual will then be navigated to the How It Works? page. It is advised to go through the steps to understand the process and go ahead accordingly.
Step 7 – Click “Process To Update Aadhaar”. A new page will appear where one can select the given Aadhaar data fields to update. Since we aim to update the address, click on the same option.
Step 8 – Find the current address and enter a new address in the "Details to be Updated" section below.
Step 9 – Post carefully entering the new address details, upload the necessary Aadhaar card address change documents.
Step 10 – In case of any edit, one may edit at the next stage. Click next. A SRN will be generated; one may note it down for future reference.
Step 11 – Make the payment transaction of Rs 50 to process the address update request.
Once the request is submitted, one will receive a URN (Update Request Number) and can use this URN to track the status of the request on the UIDAI website. The updated address will be reflected on the Aadhaar card within 10–15 days of the request being approved.
How to update address on Aadhaar card offline?
Visit a Permanent Enrollment Centre (PEC) and fill the Aadhaar Update Form (AUF). Submit the AUF and the required documents as proof of address, and pay the application fee. After that, fingerprints and an IRIS scan are taken of the individual. Similarly, the updated address will be reflected on the Aadhaar card soon.
Change Address in Aadhar Card on mAadhaar App
- The mAadhaar app also allows one to update the address. To update the address through the mAadhaar app, follow these steps:
- Download and install the mAadhaar app.
- Open the app and enter your Aadhaar details and registered mobile number.
- Click on the "Login" button.
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number.
- Click the "Update Address” option once logged in.
- Enter your new address in the required fields and upload a scanned copy of the required document.
- Click "Submit".
Once the request is submitted, a URN will be received. Kindly track the URN to follow the status of the request on the mAadhaar app or the UIDAI website. The updated address will reflect on your Aadhaar card within 10–15 days of the request being approved.
