7th Pay Commission: Odisha govt employees to get revised salary from September
Earlier this week, Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, had announced that the revised salary as per the 7th Pay Commission will be given to the government employees from the of September.
Two months after the Union Cabinet approved 7th Pay Commission recommendations, Odisha government has announced the implementation of the revised salary for state government employees.
Earlier this week, Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, had announced that the revised salary as per the 7th Pay Commission will be given to the government employees from the of September.
This will benefit nearly 4.5 lakh employees and 3.5 pensioners in Odisha state. However, the hike in salary will put an additional burden of Rs 4,500 crore per annum on the government.
Patnaik said, "My government has decided to implement the recommendations of the committee constituted for examination of the Seventh Pay Commission and its adoption for state government employees," as quoted by India Today in a report.
In another media report, this how the revised salary will look like as per the government employees' Group:
According to the report, the state government employees showed "disappointment" because they wanted to implement the revised allowance scale from January 2016 and not from September 2017 as was done by the central government.
In July, soon after the government had approved the implementation of 7th Pay Commission, states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh came into limelight for giving out the revised salary.
While MP government had already implemented 7th CPC, the Rajasthan government had asked for additional three months time to examine the recommendations.
