7th Pay Commission latest news today: Central Government Employees and pensioners would be happy to know that the National Council of JCM — Staff Side has demanded from the Center to disburse 18-month DA and DR arrears for central government employees and pensioners in one shot.
7th Pay Commission latest news today: Central Government Employees and pensioners eagerly awaiting for the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) restoration would be happy to know that the National Council of JCM — Staff Side has demanded from the Center to disburse 18-month DA and DR arrears for central government employees and pensioners in one shot. In a recent meeting with the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) and Ministry of Finance (Expenditure Department) officials the council representatives asked for one time disbursal of the three instalments of DA and Dr arrears for the central government servants and pensioners. If the center agrees to fulfill their demand, then it will be a big relief for the near 52 lakh central government employees and around 60 lakh pensioners.

Speaking on the National council of JCM — Staff Side demand from the DoPT and Ministry of Finance (Expenditure Department) officials; Shiva Gopal Mishra, Secretary at National Council of JCM — Staff Side said, "Recently in a meeting with officials of DoPT and Expenditure Department of the Finance Ministry, we have raised our demand for one time disbursal of entier 18 month DA and DR arrears for central government employees and pensioners."
Mishra said that the central government officials from the DoPT and Ministry of Finance (Expenditure Department) have assured to look into the matter, which is a big ray of hope for around 52 lakh central government employees and 60 lakh pensioners. He said that the officials neither say 'No' nor 'yes' but the national council is optimistic to get its demant met before the restoration of DA and DR for central government servants and pensioners respectively.

In March 2020, Minister of State (MoS) for the Ministry of Finance Anurag Thakur had said in a written reply to a question that the increased DA will be added in the April 2020 salary of the central government employees and monthly pension of the retired central government servants. But, unfortunately the lockdown got imposed in between and the center decided to freeze DA and DR till June 2021.
