7th Pay Commission Latest news: Central government employees must know this

7th pay Commission: For Central government employees, a crucial deadline related to them has been extended. As per an MO of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training, the government has announced extension of period of ad-hoc appointment in the graded of section officers of CSS has been made.  The period of ad-hoc promotion in SO grade that was extended up to 30-06-2021 has been now extended up to 30-06-2022.

The decision has been taken after considering the point that availability of section officers may take more time.   

"The extended period of ad-hoc promotion would be from 1.07.2021 and up to o 30.06.2022 or date of superannuation or date of their regular appointment in the grade or till further orders, whichever is earlier. The ad-hoc appointment shall not confer on the appointees any right to continue in the grade indefinitely or for the inclusion in the select list of senior officers for regular appointment or to claim seniority in the section officers' Grade of CSS," said an MO from the Department of Personnel and Training.   

The MO further said that ad-hoc appointment would continue till regular candidates in Section officers' grade is available either through seniority quota or Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE). In the event of ad-hoc appointee not qualifying for regular appointment in either of these two categories, they shall be reverted to the ASO grade on availability of such regular officers from the date the regular section officers join duty in their respective cadre units allotted to them by the department, it said.   

"The officers who have not yet successfully completed the Level B training shall have to attend the same as and when nominated by this department before regular promotion. The officers have to be in position as on 1.07.2020 I.e. should not have left service/cadre on account of VRS/death/deputation etc,. Prior to 1.07.2021," read the MO dated Juen 29.
