UPL dividend: Board announces 500% payout

UPL dividend 2023, UPL results: UPL Ltd on Monday announced a dividend of Rs 10 per equity share on equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each i.e., a 500 per cent payout to its shareholders. "We would like to further inform you that the Board has recommended a dividend of 500% i.e. Rs. 10/- per equity share on equity shares of Rs.2/- each, subject to the approval of members at the ensuing Annual General Meeting. The dividend will be paid/dispatched within 30 days of the Annual General Meeting," the company's filing said.

UPL shares on Monday post result announcement were trading at Rs 720.75 up by Rs 5.9 or 0.83 per cent on NSE. UPL shares have given a negative return of over 7 per cent in the last year, a time period in which the headline index Nifty 50 has gained 12 per cent. 

Formerly known as United Phosphorus Limited, UPL is an MNC that manufactures and markets agrochemicals, industrial chemicals, chemical intermediates, and specialty chemicals. The company also offers pesticides.
