TCS shares slip as Tata group IT major goes ex-dividend

Earlier,  the Tata group giant that is the country's biggest IT services company — had announced an interim dividend of Rs 9 per share, a 900 per cent payout given the face value of Re 1 per share. The stock opened at Rs 3,453.1 after dividend adjustment and declined nearly 1 per cent to touch the day's low of Rs 3,442.1 from the previous close of Rs 3,470.05 on NSE. The stock quoted Rs 3,442.75 apiece, down by Rs 18.3 or 0.53 per cent on NSE in the early morning deals.

The board has announced August 7 as the payment date for the interim dividend. "The interim dividend shall be paid on Monday, August 7, 2023, to the equity shareholders of the Company, whose names appear on the Register of Members of the Company or in the records of the Depositories as beneficial owners of the shares as on Thursday, July 20, 2023, which is the Record Date, fixed for the purpose.," the filing said.

Earlier this month, TCS kicked off the corporate earnings season for India Inc by reporting a consolidated net profit of Rs 11,074 crore for the April-June period. Its profit grew 16.8 per cent on a year-on-year basis and declined 2.8 per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis. Read more (LINK)
