Dividend stock: TCS shares to trade ex-date on Friday

TCS dividend ex date: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shares are set to trade ex-dividend on Friday, January 19. On January 11, the Tata group giant, which is the country’s largest IT company, announced its third interim dividend for the financial year as well as a special dividend, along with its financial results for the October-December period. 

TCS dividend 

While the interim dividend announced by the Mumbai-headquartered IT major amounts to Rs 9 per share, its special dividend is of Rs 18 per share.  

"We would like to inform you that at the Board Meeting held today, the Directors have declared a third interim dividend of Rs 9 and a special dividend of Rs 18 per Equity Share of Rs 1 each of the Company," according to a regulatory filing dated January 11.

TCS has fixed January 19 as the record date for the dividend.

The dividend will be paid on Monday, February 5, 2024, according to the company.  

TCS Q3 results 

The IT major posted a consolidated net profit or profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 11,058 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 (Q3 FY24), a decline of 2.5 per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis.  

Its margin improved by 110 basis points sequentially to 24.3  per cent for the fiscal third quarter.  

According to Zee Business analysts, the Tata group company’s quarterly net profit was estimated at Rs 11,350 crore and margin at 24.1 per cent.

Tata Consultancy Services has declared equity dividends amounting to Rs 117 per share in the past 12 months, according to stock research portal Trendlyne.
