Previously, the steel major announced a dividend of Rs 3.6 per equity share of face value Re 1 i.e., a 360 per cent payout for the financial year ended March 31 to its shareholders. As per the company's communique, the dividend recommended by the board is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company scheduled to be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

Tata Steel's stock has given a positive return of nearly 36 per cent in the last 12 months (from June 22, 2022). In comparison, the headline index Nifty 50 has rallied over 22 per cent.
Other than that, another Tata Group company — Bangalore-based Tata Elxsi will trade ex-date today. The company announced a final dividend of 606 per cent at Rs 60.6 per share for the financial year 2022-23.
