Stock market holiday, Lok Sabha Elections 2024: On account of the Parliamentary Elections in Mumbai on Monday, May 20, the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and BSE will remain closed for trading as per the notification released by the exchange dated April 9.

"In partial modification to NSE Clearing Limited circular (Download no. NCL/CMPT/59748) dated December 14, 2023, and with reference to Exchange circular (Download no. NSE/CMTR/ ) dated April 08, 2024, NSE Clearing Limited here by notifies Monday, May 20, 2024 as a transaction holiday on account of Parliamentary Elections in Mumbai," said NSE in a circular on April 9.
There will be no trading on that day in equity, equity derivatives, and SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing) segments.
The Election Commission last month declared that Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be conducted over five phases, scheduled for April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.
Voting is scheduled to take place on May 20 for Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai North, Mumbai North West, Dhule, Dindori, Nashik, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbai North East, Mumbai South, Mumbai South Central, Mumbai North Central, and Palghar.

Additionally, the exchanges will remain closed on April 11 and April 17 on account of Id-Ul-Fitr (Eid) and Ram Navami, respectively.
Besides, there will be a trading holiday on May 1 on the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
