SpiceJet shares fly high ahead of Q3 results today

SpiceJet share price today BSE, NSE, Q3 results: SpiceJet shares flew on Friday as investors awaited the private sector airline's financial results for the October-December period due later in the day. The SpiceJet stock gained more than four per cent to touch Rs 36.8 apiece on BSE.

At 10:35 am, SpiceJet shares quoted at Rs 36.6, up 3.4 per cent compared with the previous close. The stock traded in modest volumes, as 2.4 lakh shares changed hands so far on Friday as against a full-day average of 5.4 lakh in the past two weeks, according to exchange data.

Besides the quarterly financial results, SpiceJet's board will also consider raising fresh capital through issuance of eligible securities to qualified institutional buyers subject to regulatory approvals.

For the quarter ended September 2022, SpiceJet reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 833.2 crore as against a net loss of 570.5 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

Its revenue grew 45 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 1,954.4 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

Out of the total net loss, Rs 260 crore was on account of forex currency changes, SpiceJet said.

SpiceJet shares have lost 35 per cent of their value in the past one year as against a flat Nifty50.

The airline's stock rose 2.6 per cent in the quarter ended December, a period in which the 50-scrip benchmark went up 5.9 per cent.
