Maharashtra day holiday: NSE, BSE to remain shut today; here's what else is unavailable

Stock market holidays in May 2023, Are NSE BSE closed today, Maharashtra day holiday: Indian stock, bond and commodity markets will remain shut today, May 1 on account of Maharashtra day. Both the leading exchanges NSE and will BSE will remain closed as per the holiday calendar available on the BSE. As per the BSE, the Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment as well as the Currency Derivatives Segment and Interest Rate Derivatives segments will also remain shut today.

Maharashtra Day commemorates the formation of the state in India on May 1, 1960, from the division of the Bombay State.Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also remain closed for trading in the morning sessions i.e., 9 AM to 5 PM. However, India's first listed exchange will remain open for the evening session i.e., 5 PM to 11:30 PM /11:55 PM.

When will trading be available on NSE and BSE next?

The Indian stock market will resume trading normally on Tuesday, May 2 at 9:15 am, following a seven-minute pre-opening session starting 9:00 am, according to the BSE and NSE websites.
