GPT Healthcare reports 37.3% jump in YoY profit, announces dividend; stock jumps
On Tuesday, after market hours, GPT Healthcare reported a net profit for the third quarter at Rs 11.47 crore against Rs 8.354 crore a year ago, up 37.3 per cent. The revenue for the quarter under review stood at Rs 97 crore against Rs 93 crore, up 4.3 per cent.
Recently listed GPT Healthcare shares zoomed 10 per cent in trade on Wednesday, a day after the company announced its Q3FY24 results and the second interim dividend.
At around 10:33 a.m., shares of GPT Healthcare rose 5.72 per cent or Rs 9.6 at Rs 177.35 apiece on BSE. The market capitalisation of the company at around the same time stood at Rs 1,453.6 crore.
On Tuesday, after market hours, GPT Healthcare reported a net profit for the third quarter at Rs 11.47 crore against Rs 8.354 crore a year ago, up 37.3 per cent. The revenue for the quarter under review stood at Rs 97 crore against Rs 93 crore, up 4.3 per cent.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter ending December 31 stood at Rs 21.4 crore against Rs 20.3 crore, up 5 per cent and margins stood at 22.1 per cent against 21.8 per cent.
The company also announced a second interim dividend of Rs 1.
GPT Healthcare was listed on the bourses on February 29, 2024. On BSE, its got listed at a premium of 16 per cent at Rs 216.15, over its issue price of Rs 186 per share. On the NSE, the listing gains were 15.59 per cent.
Since then, the stock has declined over 9 per cent from its issue price and over 22 per cent from its listing price.
Incorporated in 1989, GPT Healthcare Limited operates a chain of mid-sized, multi-specialty, full-service hospitals in Eastern India under the ILS Hospitals brand, providing integrated healthcare services focusing on secondary and tertiary care.
Based in Kolkata, West Bengal, the company offers a range of healthcare services in over 35 specialties and super specialties. It also offers integrated diagnostic services and pharmacies.
GPT Healthcare's hospitals are located in four cities. As of June 30, 2023, the company operates four multidisciplinary hospitals with a total capacity of 561 beds, offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services in over 35 specialties and super-specialties.
