After back-to-back gains which took indices to all-time high levels, Indian equities witnessed profit booking on the last trading session of 2023. Nifty at the close ended 0.22 per cent lower, or 47.3 down and settled at 21,731.4, while Sensex fell 170 points, or 0.23 per cent and closed 2023 at 72,240.26 levels.

Tata Motors:

The commercial auto major ended 3.5 per cent higher at Rs 780.75 apiece as the centre aggressively promotes electric vehicles in the country.

Tata Consumer Products:

Shares of the FMCG company added 4 per cent higher at Rs 1086.8 as the company is set to enter into merger with Tata Coffee.

Tata Coffee:

Shares of the Tata-Group company ended 4 per cent higher at Rs 320.9 on the company’s merger with TCPL.

Azad Engineering:

Shares of the company ended over 2 per cent higher at Rs 692.4 on the second day on the bourses.

Star Cement:

Shares of the cement company added 1 per cent and closed at Rs 177 apiece as CRISIL upgraded the credit rating of the company.

Power Mech Projects:

Shares of the civil construction company ended over 3 per cent higher at Rs 4289.05 as the company bagged 2 orders aggregating to Rs 2192.4 crore.

Kalpataru Projects:

Shares of the company added over 7 per cent to settle at Rs 709.05 amid huge volumes in the counter.

RBL Bank:

Shares of the private sector lender continued its run-up for the 3rd day and ended at Rs 279.2, up around 4 per cent.

RailTel:

Railway PSU ended a sharp 15 per cent higher at Rs 338 per share as the company bagged an order worth Rs 120.45 crore from South Central Railway.

OMC stocks:

OMC stocks ended lower as sources pointed that the centre is mulling reduction in price of petrol and diesel.
