Pre-Opening Comment | Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities
“Market may edge higher in early Tuesday trades owing to positive close for the US markets, although several Asian gauges are exhibiting nervousness. Even as markets gained for seven straight sessions, intra-day volatility is likely to persist given the uncertainty in global markets and other macroeconomic woes. While investors are jittery about the likely interest rate hike in the US and other key economies, crude oil inching towards $90 a barrel due to further production cuts by Saudi and other Opec nations, the move may stoke inflation fears and prompt central banks to hike rates. For Nifty, the biggest support for today’s trade is placed at the 19921 mark, while bulls now will aim at its aggressive psychological 20500 mark.”
