Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: The benchmark indices, S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended lower on July 12 as investors turned jittery ahead of the start of the June quarter (Q1FY24) earnings season. Both TCS and HCL Tech are slated to announce their Q1 earnings today. Besides, investors were also cautious ahead of US inflation data due to be released today. At close, the S&P BSE Sensex stood at 65,393.90, down 224 points, or 0.34 per cent while the NSE's Nifty ended at 19,384.30, down 55 points, or 0.28 per cent.

Adani Enterprises, Tata Motors, Infy and UltraTech Cement are among the top losers, down nearly 2-1 per cent. On the other hand, ONGC, Eicher Motors, Nestle India and Kotak Bank are among the top gainers in the Nifty basket, trading with gains of around 2-1 per cent.

Shares of Kinetic Engineering were locked in the upper circuit limit of 5 per cent at Rs 124.20 on the BSE on July 12. The stock jumped after the company announced that its board has approved the raising of over Rs 54 crore from various available sources, including promoters and the sale of its non-core assets.
Accordingly, the board approved the issue of 22.85 lakh equity shares on a preferential basis, to promoters and promoter group companies totalling Rs 26.27 crore at a price of Rs 115 per share (including a premium of Rs 105 per share), the company said in its regulatory filing on July 11. Read more

TCS Q1 Result Today | TCS to kick off earnings season today; here's what to expect
According to Zee Business research, TCS is expected to report a net profit of Rs 10,900 crore for the April-June period, which translates to a decline of 4.3 per cent on a sequential basis. Its revenue is estimated to grow 0.8 per cent, in rupee as well as dollar terms, to Rs 59,650 crore and $7,250 million respectively.
